CJ Guo & Co was set up on a simple idea: people with a legal problem should be able to reach their lawyer, understand what is happening, and agree costs before work begins. We are a small Kuala Lumpur practice, and the partners stay closely involved in every matter.

Christopher Joseph Wei-Yan Guo

Managing Partner

Christopher founded CJ Guo & Co in July 2024. His practice is in civil litigation, including defamation, civil fraud, company and employment disputes, and he appears in court for clients from the first hearing to appeal.

He also has a corporate practice. He has acted on listing and corporate exercises for companies on the Main Market, ACE Market and LEAP Market of Bursa Malaysia, and handles corporate drafting and legal due diligence.

Julie Ha

Partner

Julie was called to the Bar in both West Malaysia and Sarawak, so she can act for clients in either jurisdiction.

Her practice covers wills and probate, divorce, the preparation of agreements and intellectual property. She speaks English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Foochow.

Our approach

Plain answers, regular updates.

Legal problems are stressful enough without having to wonder what your lawyer is doing. So we make a point of being easy to reach, and of telling you what we think, including when the answer is not the one you hoped for.

Every new matter starts with a first consultation, where you speak to a partner directly. Once we are instructed, we agree our fees with you in writing before work begins, and we send you regular updates on where your matter stands.

We act in the Magistrates', Sessions and High Courts, the Industrial Court and the appellate courts, and we draft the contracts, agreements and wills our clients need along the way.
